Early Advice

Highlight Heritage provides advice on what is important, or significant, about your building or the conservation area at the very beginning of the project. This can be of great benefit, especially with complex projects, as understanding what is significant about a building or place will ensure that any design work is informed and responds to its unique character. This will help to give the project the best chance of success when applying for planning or listed building consent.

Lucy is a qualified architect and uses these skills and expertise to carry out a design review on a scheme, providing advice on any heritage considerations. This includes schemes that may have previously been unsuccessful at the planning or listed building consent stage.

Heritage Statement

A Heritage Statement is required by the council as part of a planning and/or listed building application. Whether a window replacement or a new build in a conservation area, we will prepare a Heritage Statement to accompany the application. The level of detail in the statement will vary according to the complexity of the application.

Historic Research

Historic research can be carried out on any building type, in any location. It could be part of the marketing strategy for an Airbnb property, a pub, or a boutique hotel.
